TARA ANNE PLEAT, concentrates her practice in the areas of:
- Trust, Estate and Tax Planning for Residents of New York, Florida, and Massachusetts
- Trust and Estate Administration,
- Preparation of Estate, Gift, and Fiduciary Income Tax Returns for New York and Florida Residents
and
- Special Needs Estate Planning
Tara is admitted to
practice in New York, Florida, Massachusetts, the United States Tax Court
and the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Tara graduated from Albany Law School cum laude, with honors
in the Estate Planning concentration. At Albany Law, Tara
was editor-in-chief of the Albany Law Journal of Science &
Technology, and founder of the school’s Tax Law Society. She
earned her undergraduate degree at the State University of New
York at Albany in three years. During law school she worked full-time as an estate planning paralegal in an
Albany law firm.
Tara is an active member of the Taxation Committee of the Trusts & Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association and is also a member of the Tax Section. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York and the Children's Museum at Saratoga. Tara is a graduate of the 2006 class of Leadership Saratoga, sponsored by the Saratoga Springs Chamber of Commerce and also volunteers for the Women's Legal Project.
Tara frequently speaks on Estate Planning for
state and local bar associations, local community organizations and corporations. She also speaks annually at the Senior Citizens Law Day sponsored by Albany Law School.
